Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced

QA/QC Engineer

with a strong background in

HV substation projects

and mandatory

approval from TAQA or TRANSCO

. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality management aspects of transmission and substation works, ensuring strict compliance with TRANSCO/TAQA standards, international codes, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement

QA/QC procedures

in alignment with

TRANSCO/TAQA quality requirements

. Review and approve

Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

,

method statements

, and

material submittals

. Conduct inspections of

substation installation works

(GIS, AIS, transformers, switchgear, protection panels, control systems, cabling, earthing, etc.). Coordinate with

TRANSCO/TAQA inspectors

, consultants, and contractors for site inspections and approvals. Prepare and maintain all

QA/QC records

, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance documentation. Issue

Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)

and monitor corrective/preventive actions. Ensure equipment and materials comply with approved specifications and standards. Support

testing and commissioning

teams and witness required tests. Participate in

internal and external quality audits

and ensure audit compliance. Monitor subcontractor work to ensure adherence to project QA/QC requirements. Ensure documentation for final handover is accurate, complete, and as per TRANSCO/TAQA guidelines.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field). Minimum

5 years of experience

in

QA/QC

roles for

HV substation projects

(132kV/220kV/400kV). Must hold valid

QA/QC Engineer approval from TAQA or TRANSCO

. Strong knowledge of

TRANSCO/TAQA standards

, specifications, and quality procedures. Experience in handling

electrical and civil QA/QC aspects

of substation projects. Familiarity with

ISO 9001

Quality Management System. Strong technical knowledge of substation equipment and systems. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Proficient in MS Office and quality documentation tools.
