The QA/QC Engineer will assist the QA/QC Manager in ensuring that all project quality assurance and control activities are implemented in accordance with contractual obligations, company policies, statutory regulations, and certification standards. The incumbent will support daily quality operations, report findings, and recommend corrective actions to maintain compliance with quality management systems and project requirements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1.Quality System Implementation
Prepare, implement, and maintain the QA/QC system at the project site in accordance with project contract requirements.
Assist in the preparation and continuous improvement of the Quality System Documentation and Project Quality Plan.
Support the development, review, and monitoring of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and related quality documentation.
2.Quality Control & Inspection
Ensure inspections and tests are carried out as per approved ITPs, specifications, and standards.
Conduct site surveillance to verify adherence to approved procedures and quality requirements.
Issue Quality Violation Notices where non-compliance is identified and follow up on corrective actions.
Coordinate with laboratory and materials sections to fulfill all QA/QC requirements of the Client.
3.Audit, Compliance & Reporting
Assist in conducting internal and external audits on Quality and Management Systems, including Subcontractors/Suppliers.
Prepare audit findings and monitor close-out of non-conformities (NCRs).
Provide input for monthly QA/QC reports and maintain documentation for consultant/client submissions.
Monitor the completion and compliance status of works and maintain comprehensive quality records.
4.Training & Communication
Conduct Management Systems and Quality Induction sessions for project and subcontractor personnel.
Facilitate training programs and workshops to promote quality awareness and compliance.
Attend quality-related meetings with Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
5.Project Close-Out
Support final inspection and handover processes, ensuring all quality documentation and defect close-outs are completed.
Assist in archiving compliance and quality records post-project completion.
6.Other Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct inspections at supplier premises as required.
Investigate quality-related incidents, prepare reports, and coordinate implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
Stay updated with relevant project specifications, drawings, and construction standards.
7. EHS Responsibilities
Ensure attendance at mandatory EHS induction training before commencing work.
Immediately report any unsafe acts or conditions to the concerned authority.
Ensure awareness of assembly points and evacuation procedures.
Maintain proper identification, labeling, and safe storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
Job Interactions and Working Relationships
Internal:
Coordinate closely with Project Management, Construction, Materials, and Laboratory teams for quality-related deliverables.
External:
Liaise with Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers for quality inspections, approvals, and compliance matters.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum
5 years of relevant experience
in QA/QC roles within the UAE construction sector.
Sound knowledge of international quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001).
Familiarity with project documentation, ITPs, Method Statements, and material testing procedures.
Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor) preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills.
