The QA/QC Engineer (HVAC) is responsible for ensuring that all HVAC installation, testing, commissioning, and documentation activities are executed in full compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, Qatar Energy requirements, and approved quality management systems. This role ensures defect-free delivery of mechanical works and continuous quality improvement across projects.
Minimum Qualification & Certification
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' HVAC QA/QC experience in Qatar
Project Approval:
Qatar Energy Approved (Mandatory)
Driving License:
Valid Qatari Driving License
Languages:
Fluent in English & Hindi (Spoken and Written)
Computer Skills:
MS Office, QA/QC documentation systems
Health:
Medically fit for site-based work
Professional Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in HVAC QA/QC works within Qatar
Proven experience in Qatar Energy, Oil & Gas, or large-scale industrial projects
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including:
Chilled water systems
DX systems
AHUs, FCUs, VAVs
Ducting, insulation, dampers, and controls
Experience working with consultants, client inspectors, and third-party testing agencies
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
Review and approve ITPs, Method Statements, MARs, MIRs, and WIRs
Ensure materials and installations comply with:
Project specifications
Approved shop drawings
Qatar Energy standards
ASHRAE, SMACNA, and relevant international codes
2. Inspection & Testing
Conduct routine site inspections for HVAC installation activities
Coordinate and witness:
Pressure testing
Duct leakage testing
Air balancing & water balancing
Functional testing and commissioning
Ensure proper calibration and certification of testing equipment
3. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate QA/QC records, including:
Inspection reports
Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Corrective and Preventive Action Reports (CAPA)
Prepare handover documentation and as-built quality records
Support project audits and Qatar Energy inspections
4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
Identify quality deviations and issue NCRs as required
Monitor closure of NCRs and verify corrective actions
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
5. Coordination & Communication
Liaise with:
Project managers
Site engineers
Consultants
Client representatives
Attend coordination, quality, and progress meetings
Provide technical support to site teams to ensure quality compliance
