Job Description

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing quality assurance and quality control procedures on-site, ensuring that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and standards. The role supports the QA/QC Manager in maintaining the project's Quality Management System (QMS) and driving adherence to contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and implementing project-specific QA/QC plans, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and checklists. Conduct inspections of materials, workmanship, and site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Monitor and review subcontractors' and suppliers' quality documents, submittals, and method statements. Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for inspections, approvals, and quality-related matters. Report non-conformances (NCRs), follow up on corrective/preventive actions, and maintain proper records. Prepare quality inspection reports, site observations, and weekly QA/QC updates. Ensure calibration and proper use of testing equipment. Maintain documentation for material approvals, test results, and inspection records for final project handover. Support audits, site reviews, and quality awareness sessions.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of QA/QC experience in the construction or contracting industry. Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, ISO standards, and industry codes (ASTM, ACI, BS, etc.). Experience with material testing, site inspections, and documentation. Familiarity with local authority requirements and international standards. Good communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
