Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA/QC Engineer to support the quality management and inspection activities of our steel-related construction projects. The role focuses on ensuring that all works are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and inspection requirements. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for quality documentation, inspections, coordination with consultants and clients, and maintaining audit-ready quality records throughout the project lifecycle.

Projects may include structural steel fabrication and erection, architectural metal works, steel handrails and supports, anchoring systems, base plates, sandwich panels, and customized steel assemblies on infrastructure and building projects.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and maintain the project Quality Management System in line with project and contractual requirements. Prepare, review, submit, and maintain QA/QC documentation including: Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) Inspection Record Entries (IREs) Checklists and quality logs Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant standards. Coordinate and conduct inspections for: Survey and setting-out activities Structural steel erection and alignment Anchor bolts, base plates, brackets, and supports Welding, bolted connections, and assemblies Coating, galvanizing, and surface treatment prior to installation Coordinate inspection requests and approvals with the Consultant / Client representatives. Monitor site activities to ensure quality requirements are implemented at all stages of construction. Identify quality issues proactively and report them to the Project Manager / Project Engineer. Prepare, issue, and follow up on NCRs, including root cause analysis and corrective actions, where required. Maintain updated QA/QC logs, inspection status trackers, and quality records. Provide QA/QC inputs for daily and weekly progress reports. Support audits, inspections, and quality reviews conducted by the Client, Consultant, or third-party inspectors. Ensure all quality records are properly compiled and ready for handover and project close-out.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

2-5 years of experience

in QA/QC roles within steel construction or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of: Structural steel fabrication and erection processes Welding inspection and bolted connection requirements Anchoring systems and alignment tolerances Proven experience with QA/QC documentation workflows (WIR, MIR, ITP, IRE). Strong ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, specifications, and method statements. Good knowledge of site inspection procedures and consultant coordination. Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage. Strong organizational, reporting, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously.
