SEK International School Qatar is located in the prominent West Bay, Al Farouq Street in Doha, Qatar. We are seeking candidates for 2023-2024 academic year:

PYP Counsellor/Learning Support Leader Mission: Identify situations/patterns of achievement and/or behaviour affecting student/school progress and well-being and collaborates with others to develop solutions.
Responsibilities: Works closely with tutors, teachers and students to ensure the following objectives are achieved:

• Students acquire the attitudes, knowledge, and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span.
• Students acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills to help them understand and respect themselves and others.
• Provides support to the tutors and teachers in issues related to behaviour management.
• Provides parents or guardians education, information, and training, to enhance their understanding of their role in the learning experience of the students
• Analyses school data and identifies trends or systemic barriers that affect the academic, emotional and/or social progress of the students.
• Supports the Leadership Team to ensure the school provides a safe and positive environment for students to achieve their goals related to academic and personal development.
• Supports the admissions department in conducting preschool admission assessments and interviews.

Requirements:

• Teaching qualification adequate for the teaching job.
• ICT knowledge.
• Experience relevant to the job.
• Fluency in English. Arabic and Spanish desirable.
• Double degrees, master and international experience are valued positively.
• Previous experience of teaching the IB PYP is preferred, although outstanding candidates without prior IB experience will be considered
• Previous experience and knowledge in learning support is desired
