Job Description

Job Title: Purchasing Manager - Oil & Lubricants Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of refining oil and lubricants for the organization.
  • Identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing, timely delivery, and high-quality products.
  • Manage supplier relationships, evaluate supplier performance, and implement measures to improve supplier performance and reduce costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate supply of refining oil and lubricants at all times.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as production, maintenance, and engineering teams, to ensure that refining oil and lubricants are procured in accordance with their specific requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in refining oil and lubricant technology, and apply this knowledge to inform procurement decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to refining oil and lubricant procurement and use, such as ISO and ASTM standards.
  • Manage a team of procurement professionals and provide training and development opportunities to help them perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage the procurement budget and provide regular reports to senior management on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as industry associations and government agencies, to stay informed of industry trends, developments, and regulations.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new products or suppliers, and make recommendations to senior management on opportunities for improving procurement processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in chemical engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in refining oil and lubricant procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or refining environment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  • A strong understanding of industry regulations and standards related to refining oil and lubricants, including knowledge of ISO and ASTM standards.
  • Experience managing a team of procurement professionals and developing talent.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies is an asset.
