Primary Role Focus

Located in the Packers Plus Saudi Arabia manufacturing plant in Dhahran, the Purchaser will support the supply chain team by assisting in sourcing materials and components for production and projects. Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to help ensure timely delivery and smooth order flow. This entry-level role reports to the Purchasing Specialist and offers opportunities to learn and grow within the purchasing function.



Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and issuing purchase orders under the guidance of senior team members Help collect and compare supplier quotes Enter and maintain vendor and item data in the ERP system Track and follow up on orders, updating the system with any changes Support the team in expediting and resolving order issues Communicate clearly with internal teams and vendors to ensure accurate information flow Begin developing knowledge of supplier capabilities Assist in fulfilling orders for secondary processes as required Learn the backup responsibilities of the Purchasing Supervisor


Position Requirements

Experience and Skills

0-2 years of relevant experience or a strong interest in purchasing/supply chain Basic understanding of purchasing or supply chain principles through education or training Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills Comfortable working with spreadsheets and business software (Excel, Outlook) Familiarity with ERP systems is an asset (e.g. MS Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) Willingness to learn how to read technical drawings Knowledge of oil tool equipment, machining of parts, and sourcing machined parts is an asset Experience in Raw Materials procurement is an asset


Education and Training

Fluency in written and spoken English High school diploma or equivalent is required Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate is preferred (e.g. commerce degree, SCMP, Inventory and Production management certificate)


Physical and Safety Requirements

Compliance with Packers Plus Health & Safety program This role is not Safety Sensitive, but is Subject to post-incident and reasonable-cause drug & alcohol testing Extended periods of sitting at a desk and use of a computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse
