The Purchase Assistant - Electrical supports the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and managing electrical materials and equipment needed for projects and operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective acquisition while maintaining quality standards and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and issuance of purchase orders for electrical components and materials.
Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors for electrical products such as cables, switchgear, transformers, lighting, and related equipment.
Maintain accurate records of purchase requests, quotations, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies.
Coordinate with project teams and engineers to understand material requirements and specifications.
Verify invoices and delivery receipts against purchase orders and resolve any inconsistencies.
Monitor stock levels of electrical materials and assist in inventory management.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and electrical standards.
Support the procurement department in preparing reports and analysis related to purchasing activities.
Assist in vendor performance evaluation and maintaining supplier databases.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Previous experience (1-3 years) in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the electrical or construction industry.
Basic understanding of electrical components, products, and industry standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/purchasing software.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
