Business Need / Purpose of Role:

To assemble pump units in accordance to given specifications and ensure that assembled pump units are pressure tested in ensuring that all assembled units conform to required Weir Minerals standards

Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Strip pump and bearing assembly units and do internal quote on Weir pump range.
• Assemble bearing assemblies and pump units
• Do fault finding on pumps and bearings assemblies and give daily feedback on performance
• Do running test on bearing assemblies.
• Perform pressure testing of assembled pump units
• Completely assemble Pump Units and Bearing Assemblies through the process according to set specifications and monitor the process flow of pump units
• Ensure quality and work standard of workmanship is maintained
• Complete bearing assembly and pump units, inspect units to comply with the quality standards and sign off on required documents
• Monitor the technical bearing and assembly and finishing of pumps units
• Responsible for safety when working with equipment
• Meet daily targets
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvements initiatives that seeks to address all quality related queries and concerns
• Required to work overtime on pumps when necessary
• Medically fit to work and carry out set task
• Adherence of all HSE and housekeeping requirements

• Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Education and/or Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
