Job Summary:

The Public Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall appearance of all indoor and outdoor public areas within the hotel. This includes lobbies, corridors, restrooms, banquet halls, elevators, gardens, outdoor seating areas, pathways, and other shared spaces. The role ensures that these areas meet the hotel's standards of hygiene, safety, and guest satisfaction at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the daily cleaning and maintenance activities of all indoor and outdoor public areas, including gardens and outdoor seating areas. Inspect public and outdoor spaces regularly to ensure high standards of cleanliness, landscaping, and repair are maintained. Oversee the upkeep of garden areas, including liaising with landscaping or gardening teams to maintain plants, lawns, and outdoor decor. Train, motivate, and monitor the performance of public area attendants and other housekeeping staff. Address guest complaints and requests related to public and outdoor areas promptly and effectively. Ensure that cleaning supplies, gardening equipment, and materials are used efficiently and maintained properly. Collaborate with other departments (maintenance, security, landscaping, front office) to resolve issues affecting public and outdoor areas. Enforce safety and security procedures in all public and outdoor spaces. Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, landscaping activities, and inventory. Assist with special projects and deep cleaning tasks during off-hours or as required.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in housekeeping, public area supervision, or facilities management within a hotel or hospitality environment. Knowledge or experience in garden/landscape maintenance is a plus. Strong leadership and team management skills. Good eye for detail and commitment to high cleanliness and maintenance standards. Ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve problems efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and outdoor maintenance tools. Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
