Your day to day
FINANCIAL RETURNS
Converts condemned items into usable items
Maintains inventory of sewing supplies such as threads, buttons, zippers, linen etc
Prepares requisitions for depleted supplies
Checks condemned linen from Laundry
Assists in linen inventory taking
Advises superior of damages and loss of linen / uniform on regular basis
PEOPLE
Adheres to personal grooming and hygiene standards.
Attends meetings and training sessions as required
Performs sewing duties including altering, fitting and mending for colleagues uniforms
Fits all new employees with existing uniforms /New uniforms
Cuts, tailors, mends and alters uniforms
Maintains equipment and keeps own working area clean
Comply with Hotel Rules and Regulations and provisions contained in the Employment Handbook
Comply with Company Grooming Standards
Comply with Time and Attendance Policies
Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self development
Comply with the company s corporate code of conduct.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Cleans and maintains guest rooms, guest corridors, linen rooms and cupboards according to set standards and procedures.
Release check out rooms through the telephone system as clean & vacant.
Replenishes guest supplies.
Ensures guest services specified by superiors and guests requests are promptly and courteously met.
Process maintenance requests through Espresso service to make sure that there is follow up in a timely manner.
Reports damage or malfunction in hotel rooms to superior.
Maintains a daily room checklist.
Meets with superior and takes on daily assigned tasks.
Records room status in allocated section accurately.
Maintains floral arrangements in rooms.
Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including:
Being attentive to guests.
Accurately and promptly fulfilling guest s requests.
Anticipate guest s needs.
Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the guest experience.
Demonstrating a service attitude.
Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints.
Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Reports and submits lost and found articles to superior immediately
Reports unusual behavior/activities on floors to supervisor.
Complies with hotel s health, safety and hygiene policy.
Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety
What we need from you
High school education. Ability to speak English fluently. Previous Housekeeping experience in a similar property would be an advantage.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200
pounds
