Propulsion Service Engineer

We are looking for a Service Engineer - Propulsion Control Systems to handle installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance of advanced propulsion control and monitoring systems used in marine vessels.


Location - Dubai


Experience required - 3 to 5 years


What will you be doing:

Installation and Commissioning (New or retrofit) of Propulsion control system, Tuning, Troubleshooting and repairing of propulsion control systems (pitch, load, thrust, joystick, DP integration) Perform onboard commissioning, retrofits, and periodic maintenance Analyze system logs, trends, and alarms for performance tuning and fault diagnostics Interface with clients, shipyards, and OEM partners professionally Generate technical reports and service documentation To be successful, you will need the following:

Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering. 3-5 years of relevant experience in marine automation/control systems (preferably propulsion or thruster controls-(Controllable pitch propellers(CPP),Steerable Thrusters, Retractable Thrusters, Waterjets etc..) Strong understanding of Various types of Drive motor Starter panels (Auto transformer, Soft Starter, VFDs etc.) and electrical circuits. Strong understanding of PLC, HMI, and fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Modbus, Profibus) Knowledge in Hydraulic system. Hands-on experience with Electro/Hydraulic pitch control systems Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels or offshore platforms



Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with Wartsila Engine controls systems Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills Strong written and verbal communication Self-motivated and safety-conscious Last application date: 20/08/2025
