Proofreader \xe2\x80\x93 Remote (part-time)

This role is open to international applicants.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Proofreading, quality and formatting review of work, largely complex environmental services reports, often of a technical nature
  • Being familiar with in-house and client-specified style guides and updating and improving them when required
  • Copy editing to ensure the sense of text written by technical staff and improve its consistency and readability.
Person specification:
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in a technical or scientific discipline
  • Over three year\xe2\x80\x99s experience of working in a similar role and the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of what the role requires is advantageous
  • Able to commit to an average of 15 hours/week (workloads during individual weeks may vary)
  • High level of skill in written English, particularly spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Competent user of all Microsoft packages (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a large volume of information/documents
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with a variety of people at all levels of the business, inside and outside of the immediate team
