Position Overview
This Project Manager role oversees the full lifecycle of major multi-disciplined engineering projects, from inception and conceptual development to design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. The position ensures all projects meet ADNOC's technical, commercial, HSE, and quality standards while delivering on time and within budget. It requires strong leadership, deep project engineering expertise, and the ability to manage large-scale Oil and Gas developments involving multinational consultants and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptual and proposal development, providing technical input and coordinating design and material specifications
  • Oversee procurement, tendering activities, and ensure compliance with relevant codes, practices, and standards
  • Manage Project Management Consultants and ensure effective site supervision and project administration
  • Lead project strategy development for major field development initiatives
  • Direct project teams across all phases from initiation to commissioning and startup
  • Manage contractors to ensure adherence to project management principles, HSE requirements, cost controls, and timelines
  • Represent the division on committees and provide technical guidance as required
  • Coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams and oversee technical and administrative tasks within assigned authority levels
  • Review technical data, support feasibility assessment, and refine project scopes and objectives
  • Participate in transforming initial project ideas into detailed execution plans
  • Direct and refine project designs, specifications, costs, and phasing strategies with departments such as Finance and Commercial Support
  • Develop overall work programs, terms of reference, project standards, and procedures for execution phases
  • Ensure full compliance with project management standards, including pre-qualification, budgeting, procurement, and variation order approvals
  • Oversee implementation of safety programs and audit adherence to company safety rules
  • Ensure contractors execute work safely using approved procedures and method statements
  • Support startup planning, commissioning strategies, and manning requirements
  • Evaluate alternatives in construction strategies (e.g., concrete vs. steel, shop vs. field fabrication)
  • Coordinate financial aspects including currency requirements, import duty exceptions, and financial forecasts
  • Participate in Tender Board meetings and provide updates on project financial positions
  • Evaluate contractor performance across quality, cost, schedule, and safety parameters
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports
  • Ensure technical integrity, cost control, and quality standards across all project phases
  • Deliver major development projects aligned with HSE, quality, cost, and schedule targets
  • Review and recommend acceptance or rejection of project work programs and proposals
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 12 years of experience in Oil and Gas project engineering/execution, including 5 years leading multi-discipline teams
  • Strong project management expertise with deep understanding of contracts, planning, budgeting, and cost control
  • Proven leadership skills managing large, complex engineering projects
  • Ability to manage contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of technical integrity, construction methods, and project delivery standards
