Role Overview

The Project Engineer will oversee execution of steel fabrication and erection projects from planning through completion. You will coordinate between engineering, fabrication, quality, procurement, and site teams to ensure projects deliver on time, within quality standards and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning, scheduling, and controlling project execution (fabrication, logistics, erection). Coordinate with design/structural engineers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Review drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents. Monitor progress on site and in workshop; identify bottlenecks, propose mitigation. Track project costs, change orders, and variances. Ensure compliance with QHSE standards, safety protocols, and quality standards. Conduct site inspections, punch list, and commissioning support. Prepare project status reports, progress reports, and interfaces with management.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or related engineering field. 3-7 years' experience in project engineering, preferably in steel fabrication / structural steel works. Familiarity with project management tools, scheduling (MS Project, Primavera, etc.). Good technical understanding of steel fabrication, welding, structural connections, erection. Ability to read, interpret, and verify engineering / shop drawings. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Good command of English; Arabic is a plus. Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and QHSE systems.
