Role Summary:

The Project Director (PD) is responsible for the

overall leadership, direction, and delivery

of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with the client's objectives and the company's quality, budgetary, and scheduling goals. This role requires a strong background in

consultancy

technical

commercial matters

. The PD will manage multidisciplinary teams, maintain resource control within CHSS budgets, and serve as the key point of accountability for project success.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering (BSc. required)

15+ years of total industry experience

, with

at least 3 years in the role of Project Director

Strong

consultancy experience

in building and infrastructure development Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate large project teams Strong knowledge of project delivery, commercial controls, contracts (FIDIC preferable), and local authority regulations Experience working with government clients or semi-government authorities is an advantage

Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership & Delivery

Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of all phases of the project lifecycle. Establish overall project strategy, execution plans, and monitoring tools. Serve as the primary liaison with the client, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders. Ensure project delivery meets contractual obligations, technical specifications, and quality standards. Maintain focus on client satisfaction, team collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.

Team & Resource Management

Provide direction and guidance to project managers, engineers, inspectors, and support staff. Monitor resource allocation and ensure alignment with CHSS budget constraints. Lead performance evaluations and support professional development within the team.

Technical Oversight

Supervise and review key technical submissions, design coordination, and construction activities. Resolve high-level technical issues in coordination with subject matter experts. Ensure compliance with industry standards and authority regulations.

Commercial & Contractual Management

Review and manage contractual claims, variations, and commercial risks. Oversee cost control, budgeting, and financial performance of the project. Ensure proper documentation and reporting for contractual compliance.

Preferred Experience:

Hands-on delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects

Experience in urban development, transportation, mixed-use developments, or public facilities

Strong understanding of local building codes and authority approval processes (e.g., ADM, ADDC, etc. for Abu Dhabi)
