We are looking for Project Data Specialist to act as the
data-focused PMO
, responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring data-related projects and initiatives across the organization. This role ensures that data programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with governance standards. The specialist provides structure, reporting, and operational support to enable successful execution of data strategies, including data quality improvement, governance implementation, and compliance projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination
Develop and maintain project plans for data initiatives, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of data projects.
Manage dependencies and risks across multiple data programs.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all data projects adhere to governance frameworks, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support the implementation of data governance policies and processes within project scope.
Monitoring & Reporting
Track progress of data projects and report status to stakeholders using dashboards and KPIs.
Prepare executive summaries and detailed reports for Data Office leadership.
Monitor budget and resource utilization for data initiatives.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify potential risks and issues impacting project delivery.
Develop mitigation plans and escalate critical risks to leadership.
Ensure timely resolution of project-related issues.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the central point of contact for data project stakeholders.
Facilitate communication between business functions, technical teams, and governance roles.
Organize steering committees and project review meetings.
Process Improvement
Recommend improvements to project management processes for data initiatives.
Implement best practices for data project delivery and documentation.
Qualifications:
Required Competencies
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
Familiarity with data management principles, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar).
Ability to create dashboards and visual reports (Power BI, Tableau preferred).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Interactions
Business Functions: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations.
Technical Teams: Data Engineers, CRM Administrators, IT Security.
Governance Roles: Data Domain Owner, Data Officer, Data Risk Lead.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Data Management, or related field.
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile) preferred.
Experience in managing data-related projects or programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
