Job Description

Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator/Approvals will oversee the end-to-end approvals process for projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. This role involves coordinating with government authorities, stakeholders, and internal teams to secure necessary permits, licenses, and clearances in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Approvals & Compliance Management

  • Identify and obtain all required statutory approvals, permits, NOCs (No Objection Certificates), and clearances for projects.
  • Liaise with government bodies, municipal corporations, environmental agencies, and other regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations (e.g., building codes, environmental laws, zoning laws).
  • Track approval timelines and escalate delays to management.
2. Documentation & Coordination
  • Prepare, review, and submit approval-related documents (e.g., drawings, applications, feasibility reports).
  • Maintain a centralized repository of approvals, permits, and compliance records.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, legal teams, and consultants to ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.
3. Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate meetings with authorities to expedite approvals and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Project Management, Legal, Design, EHS) to align approvals with project timelines.
4. Project Coordination & Reporting
  • Monitor approval milestones and update project schedules accordingly.
  • Prepare regular status reports on pending/approved clearances for senior management.
  • Identify risks in the approvals process and propose mitigation strategies.
5. Process Improvement
  • Streamline approvals workflows to reduce turnaround time.
  • Stay updated on changing regulations and advise teams on compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Law, or related field.
  • Experience: 4-6 years in project coordination, approvals, or regulatory compliance (preferably in real estate, infrastructure, or construction).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of building codes, municipal bylaws, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management tools (e.g., MS Project), and document management systems.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
