Job Summary
The College of Technological Innovation seeks an incumbent for the position of Programmer Analyst who is responsible to report to the Dean of the College of Technological Innovation. Programmer Analyst position aims at supporting CTI in the implementation of Research & Development and knowledge transfer to the local and international community. The position's primary responsibilities include developing prototypes of faculty research work and then transforming these prototypes into mature prototypes/commercial tools that comply with strict technical specifications.
Responsibilities

• Collect system requirements in order to design, develop, code, test, and maintain information systems.
• Implement Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and research prototypes into software tools.
• Undertake verification and validation of published methods and algorithms by conducting experimentation and simulation on operational and test datasets.
• Rapidly develop prototypes and implement innovative software products in the areas of cyber security, digital forensics, and big data analytics.
• Propose and implement optimization techniques for existing research prototypes and solutions.
• Document, discuss, present, and analyze experimental results in technical reports.
• Provide documentation and user manuals for the use of the developed applications and tools.
• Actively participate in research projects run by faculty in the college.
• May be occasionally asked by the Dean to provide lab support for the installation, configuration and deployment of new and existing hardware and software tools including server, storage devices and virtual technologies.
• Be collegial with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students to effectively fulfill the assigned duties.
• Maintains a professional image and relationships (and communicates effectively) with team members.

Required Skills

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or an-IT related discipline from an accredited institution with 4 years' experience in research and development or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master degree is preferred.
• Professional training and certification will be considered
• Experience in application development focused on cyber security, fraud detection, intelligent systems, and/or digital forensics is desirable.
• Experience in development using Java, C#, C++, PHP, Python, and ASP.NET.
• Strong data analytic skills including text and data mining with hands-on experience on data mining tools such as R, WEKA, or Hadoop.
• Experience in developing web-based applications such as web-crawlers, search engines and software spiders.
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
• Ability to travel to collaborating organizations for onsite installation and configuration of the developed tools
• Ability to commute between Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses, as required.
• Must be able to work beyond normal working hours to meet deadlines.
• Experience working in the academic environment.
• Preference will be given to experience with R & D in cybersecurity and data
