Role Purpose: The Programme Leader oversees, in collaboration with and supervision by Associate Dean/President , the coordination, quality, and planning of all courses and educational programming year-round for GBS-Dubai. The Program Leader is also available to teach courses in their area of expertise. More generally, it is the job of the Program leader to provide intellectual leadership and to ensure a rigorous, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Main Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
Periodically evaluating the curriculum, instructional materials, student performances, teaching methodologies.
Act as an advising resource for faculty and other academics regarding educational strategies and formats.
Assist senior management in formulating policies and procedures; make recommendations to improve overall administration
Observing learning & assessment practices, facilities and potential hazards and report any risks to the Dean/Associate Dean
Provide effective management of the programmes, including consultation, decision making and communication with appropriate colleagues.
Ensure high standards of student experience through effective programme management
Maintain high academic standards and adherence to the programme and module specifications.
Develop specialized reports to analyze statistics pertaining to course development, teaching effort and student progress
Ensure information for students about the programme is accurate and complies with programme approval documents.
Lead the design and delivery of teaching materials for the specified programme and modules, including the curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports and focuses on student learning outcomes
Supervises the instruction and evaluation of students to ensure that they complete the learning requirements of the GBS curriculum.
Ensure quality in all learning and delivery throughout the learner journey and assess and manage risk in Internal Quality Assurance
Should travel to other places to attend meetings, workshops and conferences as required.
Carrying a teaching load as per allocation
To effectively implement Academic Policies and work towards achieving the vision of GBS.
Counselling/ advising the students to achieve higher degree of academic excellence in coordination with Faculty Members.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience
Master’s Degree as per position requirement.
PhD preferred
Ideally 10 years of teaching experience in higher education preferably in Pearson experience
Proven track record in academics & research.
A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the learning environment and teaching methodology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
