The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in architecture or a related field, strong foundation in architecture design, good record of scholarly research and publication, and have experience in academic leadership and management. Further, the candidate is expected to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students in a dynamic academic setting. Experience in professional accreditation processes, specfically NAAB accreditation, and with AIA American Licensure Standards is essential for this position.

  • Teaching Architecture and Interior Design courses
  • Advising and mentoring students
  • Pursuing a research agenda
  • Obtaining sponsored funding for research
  • Leading accreditation efforts and mentoring faculty
  • Participating in departmental, school, and university committees and activities
  • Participating in outreach activities, such as continuing education workshops, conferences and seminars
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Doctoral degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills
  • University teaching experience
  • University/Department administrative leadership experience
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices, and excellence in scholarship activities
  • Interest and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
  • Experience with NAAB accreditation requirements and processes and AIA American Licensure Standards
