Job Overview TE Connectivity's Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Long Description

Analyses the test requests: - Analyse the specifications, proposes a validation plan, defines the test methods - Defines test equipments after analysis of the test request and samples - Responsible of the project planning Performs the tests: - Preparation of the samples (measurements points...) - Machinery programming - Test fixture preparation - Performs the tests as per TE/ Customer specifications or international specs (CEI..). - Performs specific tests for product validation and qualifications (Mechanical, Climatic test sequences, electrical ageing test, vibration ageing tests, sealing tests) Collects and analyses test results: - Synthesises all results - Comments and discuss about test results for product improvement and /or modification - Records all observations in order to constitute the technical file in order to update the product file. Responsible to the lab documentation associated to the test request: - Writes the test reports (Crl, PV, R). - Validates by the lab manager or proxy - Files the lab document into the lab data base - Sends the test reports to the diffusion list. - Comments/and answers all questions from the test requester as front line - Can launch some more new tests after discussion with the engineering and lab management Insures the good working order of the test equipments: - Identifies the equipment failure - Informs the personal of the lab in charge of the maintenance interface with the supplier - Follows up the calibration program with calibration leader - Ensures a technical watch on the lab environment in relation with the lab manager - Proposes solutions to improve test working benches - Manages work placement students in relations with his projects. - Interferes up stream to the test request with the project management team - Elaborates a more realistic testing program regarding product specificities - Participates to the internal and external technical meetings (Customer and engineering) - Determines an adequate action plan for the test when required - Is the specific speaker for the lab test in a project organisation mode - Its role is fully link with the project manager and feasibility study. - He is the specific speaker for the lab test in a project organisation mode . - Ensures a technical watch on the lab environment - Report to the manager about improvement on the test station and on area of work. - Lab Engineer may also supervise the technical work of Laboratory technicians. - Lab Engineer is also responsible to adjust the tasks and calibrate the work between test technicians. - Lab Engineer may also support Metrology activity. - Lab Engineer is responsible to follow calibration of equipments.

What your background should look like:

Engineering/university degree (generalist, mechanical, electrical, material science) 3 to 5 years experience in various Engineering assignments Writing English Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Culturally sensitive Software's such as Labview, Mathlab
