Job Description

A Production Planning Coordinator in metal fabrication company creates production schedules for laser and plasma cutting machines, optimizes raw material usage through nesting software, and monitors production flow to ensure timely delivery and quality. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory, coordinate with teams, and analyze production metrics. .

Key Responsibilities:-

Production Scheduling:

Develop and maintain detailed schedules for laser and plasma machines to optimize machine utilization and meet production timelines.

Nesting Software Proficiency:

Utilize nesting software to arrange parts on sheet metal, minimizing waste and maximizing material utilization for laser and plasma cutting operations.

Material & Inventory Management:

Ensure the availability of raw materials and parts, monitoring inventory levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess.

Production Monitoring:

Track the progress of production jobs, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues to minimize disruptions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with operations, quality control, supply chain, and engineering teams to coordinate production plans and resolve issues.

Reporting:

Prepare and present status, performance, and issue reports to management and stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:-

Nesting Software:

Proven ability to use nesting software for optimization of materials on laser and plasma machines.

ERP/MRP Systems:

Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.

Metal Fabrication Knowledge:

Understanding of various manufacturing processes and the characteristics of metals, including processes specific to laser and plasma cutting.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

Excellent ability to analyze production data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate effectively with various teams and management.

Organizational Skills:

High level of organization to manage complex production schedules and documentation.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management is often preferred, though relevant experience may be considered.
