The Production Manager oversees the day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring that production runs safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes, as well as supervising production staff and optimizing production workflows to meet quality standards and delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and implement production schedules to meet company targets and customer requirements.
Monitor workflow, adjust schedules, and allocate resources to ensure timely production.
Operational Management:
Oversee all aspects of the production process, including material flow, equipment use, and workforce deployment.
Ensure production output meets quality standards, cost objectives, and delivery timelines.
Quality Control & Assurance:
Collaborate with the quality department to maintain compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
Identify and address production issues or deviations promptly.
Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff to promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Foster communication between shifts and departments.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations.
Promote a safe work environment and enforce adherence to safety procedures.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality through lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Budget & Resource Management:
Manage production budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular production performance reports, including KPIs, downtime analysis, and efficiency metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management, must have syrups manufacturing experience
Strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, and process improvement techniques.
Proficiency in ERP or MRP systems and MS Office.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
