Product Designer - Banking Transformation (On-site, Abu Dhabi)

6 Month Contract

We're looking for a highly capable

Product Designer

to join our team, seconded to a leading bank in Abu Dhabi for a large-scale transformation project. You'll be working at the heart of a major revamp of a mobile banking app serving over

2 million customers

, embedded in a large-scale agile delivery program.


This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently move from

understanding user context

, through

UX problem-solving

, to

pixel-perfect UI delivery

, operating within, and improving, an established design system. You'll be collaborating closely with product managers, developers, testers, and stakeholders, contributing to the full agile sprint lifecycle.

What you'll do:

End-to-end design ownership:

represent design across the entire agile delivery cycle -- from discovery to release.

User-centered thinking:

translate customer needs and business goals into intuitive journeys, flows, and screens.

Design system mastery:

confidently design within an established system, extend it where necessary, and ensure consistency across all outputs.

Rapid prototyping & iteration:

use wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to test, learn, and refine quickly.

Sprint contribution:

participate in sprint planning, design and code reviews, defining acceptance criteria, and reducing defects before production.

Collaboration:

work side-by-side with developers, testers, and product owners to bring designs to life and maintain quality.

Quality definition:

help establish and uphold definitions of done, design qa standards, and accessibility considerations.

Data & feedback:

leverage analytics, usability testing, and stakeholder feedback to inform and improve designs

What you bring:

Experience:

3-5 years in product design, ideally with experience in financial servicesor other regulated industries.

Skills mix:

Strong blend of UX (user journeys, information architecture, usability) and UI (visual design, layout, interaction patterns).

Delivery focus:

Proven ability to deliver high-quality design work at speed in agile environments.

Tool proficiency:

Skilled in modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Miro, InVision, Zeplin, Adobe Creative Suite) and familiar with prototyping tools.

Design system expertise:

Experience creating and managing components and patterns at scale.

Agile literacy:

Able to work effectively in cross-functional squads, contributing to ceremonies and aligning with sprint goals.

Portfolio:

Strong body of work showing both process and outcomes, with examples of mobile app projects.

Communication:

Clear, confident communicator able to explain design decisions and gain buy-in.
