We are offering you the opportunity to become DSV UAE's new Procurement Specialist. The primary job of this role is to procure and negotiate rates for DSV business in line with the market and in a manner that positions DSV to have a higher win ratio on all pricing bids. Network pricing and business conversion within DSV organization considering company's interest would also be pivotal for this role. The Procurement Specialist is characterized with skills of high attention to detail, accuracy, ability to meet deadlines and work with large and complex pricing files. This person should be able to understand the big picture, identify trends and highlight same to management in order to allow DSV to be better positioned to win. In addition, maintains & further develops market intelligence in close collaboration with other stakeholders such as Operations, Sales & Management.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Manage and respond to spot quotation requests as well as RFQs in line with customer's need for FCL, LCL, OOG (including Project cargo) Manage the timelines and submission dates effectively Coordinate for competitive buy rates with carriers and other key stakeholders Effectively communicate with carriers and build relationships with key decision makers Be accountable for content, quality and review of customer requirements, documents Play a key role in the development of Pricing / Tender Management services to drive efficiencies and innovation Manage feedback from customers analyzing the responses to understand the impact on current key trade lanes Develop a broad understanding of market rates and dynamics Monitor and update commercial price lists Identifies opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through pricing strategies Coordinate, facilitate and drive winning tender and implementation processes Collaborate with main stakeholders in line with pricing desk processes and requirements Establish strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders Establish pricing levels in accordance with company guidelines Be able to acknowledge and understand company capabilities and identify improvement areas where needed

RFPs/RFQs -Key responsibilities:

Dissect and review tender documents in detail and validate summaries Convert customer rate sheet into internal rate format (if not already done so by Global Tender team) Identify what costs/rates need to be procured and what can be sourced from core tender database Initiate procurement for the relevant services offered to customer Convert rate/cost input from DSV stakeholders into customer rate sheets

Internal - Commercial, DSV Network, Operations

External - DSV Vendors

Qualifications & Characteristics:

Min 3 years of experience working in Pricing within freight forwarding industry. Strong data analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills. Proven ability to create and coordinate tender proposals / pricing inquiries. Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must. Excellent negotiation skills. Detail-oriented and accurate. Shipping / Freight Forwarding experience. Good communication and organization skills. Ability to define requirements, analyse facts, and determine relevant solutions/actions to be taken.
