Job Description

Procurement Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement procurement strategies for IT hardware, software, and services. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and department heads, to assess technology needs. Analyse market trends to ensure the organization is getting the best prices for IT products and services.

Vendor Management:

Identify, evaluate, and select IT suppliers and vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost. Negotiate contracts and terms of service with vendors to secure favourable deals. Maintain ongoing relationships with vendors to ensure performance standards are met.

Purchasing and Budget Management:

Coordinate the purchasing process for IT products, services, and subscriptions. Manage IT procurement budgets, ensuring that spending aligns with the budget.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations related to IT procurement. Review contracts to ensure all legal requirements are met, collaborating with legal and compliance teams when necessary. Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement, including security risks related to third-party vendors.

Inventory and Asset Management:

Oversee the tracking of IT assets and ensure that they are properly catalogued and maintained. Ensure timely updates to inventory systems and assist in asset disposal, as necessary.

Process Improvement:

Continuously analyse procurement processes and identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency and cost savings. Implement best practices for IT procurement and recommend technology solutions for streamlining procurement workflows.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices. Prepare regular reports for senior management on procurement activities, savings, and performance metrics.
