Sourcing and supplier management
Identify suppliers:
Research and identify potential vendors and subcontractors for required materials, products, and services.
Qualify and evaluate:
Assess suppliers based on their capabilities, reliability, price, and quality standards, often using structured scoring sheets.
Analyze spends and cost:
Conduct market analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) modelling to identify cost-saving opportunities and guide sourcing decisions.
Manage risk:
Perform supplier risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure a resilient supply chain.
Negotiation and contracts
Negotiate contracts:
Lead or support negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing.
Manage contracts:
Draft, review, and execute contract documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Process RFx:
Develop, issue, and manage requests for information (RFIs), proposals (RFPs), and quotes (RFQs).
Internal collaboration and execution
Collaborate with stakeholders:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, operations, and finance, to understand requirements and align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Process purchases orders:
Execute purchasing transactions, including creating purchase orders and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
Manage vendor performance:
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to implement continuous improvement plans.
Administration and reporting
Maintain records:
Keep accurate procurement records, including vendor databases, contracts, and purchasing documentation.
Prepare reports:
Generate and present reports on sourcing activities, savings, and market trends for leadership.
