Purpose of the Job:
Primary responsibility is to to ensure the procurement of strategic raw materials and indirect goods/services needed for Synthomer's manufacturing sites. Your role involves sourcing, negotiating and purchasing raw materials & indirect products/services from suppliers, while considering factors such as cost, quality and site specific requirements in accordance with Synthomer policies and guidelines.
Main Accountabilities:To develop and implement category strategies to create value, reduce cost, working capital, manage risk
Identify opportunities to create value in the Middle East manufacturing sites in terms of sourcing worldwide
Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies in line with Synthomer's delegation of authority
Manage the contracting, spot purchases and processes according to the procurement and finance policies (e.g. delegation of financial authorities) under the agreement of the Head of Procurement, Strategic Raw Materials
To lower risk in the supply chain through innovative supply strategies and risk management control/monitoring
To keep informed on market developments, pricing and engage with business unit to ensure that well-informed business decisions are made
Work across the Group's Direct & Indirect teams globally to influence and leverage optimum outcomes for the Company
Effective management of supplier relationships consistent with company strategy and in compliance with ethics policy
Support the development strategies in order to achieve sustainability goals to lower overall carbon footprint via sourcing projects for raw materials/indirect products/services - Support the Head of Procurement in developing/maintaining purchasing tools, toolbox, reportings (including KPIs)
Liaising cross-functionally with the site teams and AP teams e.g. operations, finance, QSHE
Support the supply chain / trading operations / site teams with performance issues / complaints
Support for the business integrated planning processes
Provide cover as appropriate to other procurement manager team members
Be an integral part of the Procurement team working with stakeholders globally to promote the function and develop standard processes and governance Demonstrate Synthomer Core Values internally & externally in all business activities.

Knowledge and Skills:Bachelor degree (business related) Minimum 3-5 years in Procurement experience (basic chemical/petrochemicals raw material procurement preferred) Experience in process optimization and project management Excellent communication & presentations skills, negotiation, work ethics, numerate with strong analytical skills & ability to present data, commercial acumen. Organise with structural approach & strong (intercultural) skills Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders and suppliers Excellent presentation skills and self-confident in presenting in front of stakeholders at all managerial levels Proven planning and organizational skills with a strong eye on detail and accuracy Knowledge - MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, S4Hana, Ariba (e-sourcing), SpendScape Language - English (fluent), other language such as Arabic skills advantageous Ability to travel (25-50% of the time) in Middle East, Asia, Europe
