Job Description

A Procurement Officer specializing in infrastructure projects managing the procurement process for construction materials, equipment, and services. They are responsible for ensuring that the project has a reliable supply of necessary resources while optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards. Procurement Engineers collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives efficiently.

Responsibilities & Duties



Supplier Sourcing:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and establish relationships with reliable vendors and subcontractors. Ensure that suppliers can meet quality and delivery requirements.

Cost Estimation:

Prepare cost estimates and budgets for procurement needs, taking into account market conditions, price trends, and project specifications.

Material and Equipment Selection:

Collaborate with project engineers and managers to select the most suitable materials and equipment that meet project requirements while optimizing costs.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet quality standards and adhere to relevant industry regulations. Implement quality control measures.

Contract Management:

Prepare and manage procurement contracts, including terms and conditions, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Budget Control:

Monitor and control procurement budgets, making cost-effective decisions to keep expenses within the project's financial constraints.

Risk Management:

Identify and assess potential risks related to procurement and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks effectively.

Negotiation:

Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing for materials, equipment, and services. Strive to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules. Keep comprehensive documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.

Communication:

Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure timely and accurate procurement processes.

Project Coordination:

Coordinate procurement activities with project schedules and requirements, ensuring that materials and equipment are delivered on time and in the right quantities.

Education Requirements



- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.

- Professional Certifications are a plus.

Work Experience & Skills



- 2-4 years of UAE experience in procurement and supply chain management in the construction or infrastructure sector.(Mandatory )



- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.

- Strong negotiation and communication skills.

- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
