Job Summary:



The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services for electrical infrastructure projects. The role requires technical knowledge of electrical systems and experience in dealing with suppliers, manufacturers, and authorities such as DEWA, RTA, ADDC, or FEWA. The position ensures timely availability of quality materials within budget and in compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:1. Material Planning & Coordination



Review project drawings, BOQs, and specifications to determine material requirements. Coordinate with engineering and site teams to prepare material submittals and procurement schedules. Ensure alignment of material requirements with project timelines and budgets.

2. Vendor Development & Evaluation



Identify, prequalify, and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and manufacturers. Evaluate vendor quotations technically and commercially to ensure compliance with project needs. Maintain and update the vendor database for future projects.

3. Tendering & Purchase Execution



Float RFQs and collect quotations from multiple suppliers for comparison. Prepare and submit

technical-commercial comparison sheets (CSTs)

for management approval. Negotiate best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules before finalizing orders. Prepare accurate purchase orders/subcontracts in line with company policies.

4. Material Follow-up & Delivery



Track material production and shipment progress to ensure on-time delivery. Coordinate logistics and customs documentation with suppliers and logistics partners. Resolve discrepancies, delays, or quality issues in coordination with QA/QC and site teams.

5. Documentation & Compliance



Maintain complete procurement records and logs as per ISO and internal standards. Ensure all purchased materials have required test certificates, authority approvals, and compliance documentation. Participate in factory inspections or FATs when required.

6. Cost Control & Reporting



Support project cost control by ensuring materials are procured within budget. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing or value engineering. Prepare weekly and monthly procurement status reports for management.

Qualifications & Requirements:



Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in procurement within

electrical infrastructure, utilities, or EPC contracting industry

.

Technical Knowledge:

LV, MV, and HV cables, transformers, switchgear, RMUs, panels, and accessories. Familiarity with DEWA/RTA/FEWA/ADDC material standards and approval procedures.

Software Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems (ODOO)

Language:

Proficiency in English (Arabic is an advantage).

Other Skills:

Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.

Strong understanding of procurement processes in construction/infra projects. Effective coordination and communication with multiple departments. Commercial awareness and cost optimization mindset. Ability to handle pressure and meet strict deadlines. Ethical and transparent approach to procurement.
