Al Mutla Trading & Contracting is seeking an experienced and proactive
Procurement Officer
to manage purchasing activities across construction, steel fabrication, waterproofing, MEP, aluminum, UPVC, WPC, and finishing works. The ideal candidate will ensure timely sourcing of materials, cost efficiency, supplier reliability, and full coordination with operations, production, and project teams.
This role is critical to controlling costs, maintaining project schedules, and supporting smooth workshop and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Source and procure materials, tools, and services required for projects and workshop production.
Handle procurement for steel sections, fabrication materials, aluminum, UPVC, WPC, hardware, waterproofing systems, MEP items, and consumables.
Identify, evaluate, and maintain approved suppliers and subcontractors.
Cost Control & Negotiation
Obtain competitive quotations and negotiate best prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
Coordinate with QS and management to align procurement with approved budgets.
Support cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or specifications.
Purchase Orders & Coordination
Prepare purchase requests (PRs) and issue purchase orders (POs).
Track deliveries and ensure materials arrive on time and as per specifications.
Coordinate with workshop, site engineers, and storekeepers for material planning and availability.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier files, quotations, and PO documentation.
Ensure materials comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
Assist with material submittals, approvals, and supplier documentation when required.
Inventory & Reporting
Monitor stock levels and support inventory planning to avoid shortages or excess.
Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports for management.
Flag risks related to delays, shortages, or price fluctuations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum
3-5 years procurement experience
in Qatar (construction / contracting background required).
Strong knowledge of
construction materials and fabrication supplies
.
Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word); ERP or accounting system experience is an advantage.
Strong communication and coordination skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
Valid Qatar driving license preferred.
