The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Source, negotiate, and purchase
construction materials, tools, and services in line with company policies and project requirements.
Prepare and
issue purchase orders
and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
Evaluate and
negotiate contracts
with suppliers and subcontractors.
Maintain and update an
approved supplier database
and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with
project managers, engineers, and site supervisors
to identify procurement needs.
Track and manage
inventory levels
and coordinate with warehouse/logistics teams for deliveries and storage.
Conduct
market research
to stay up to date on material costs, availability, and alternative suppliers.
Monitor and
analyze procurement metrics
(e.g. cost savings, vendor performance).
Ensure
compliance with procurement policies
, construction industry regulations, and local laws.
Assist with
budget preparation
and cost forecasting for procurement items.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in
Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering
, or related field.
Minimum of 5-10
years experience
in procurement within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of
construction materials, suppliers, and industry standards
.
Proficient in
procurement software
(e.g. SAP, Oracle, Procore, or similar).
Excellent
negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g.
CIPS, CPM, CPSM
).
Experience working on
large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects

Familiarity with
local construction codes and vendor networks
