Job Description

Procurement Strategy & Planning

Develop procurement plans aligned with project schedules and budgets. Identify reliable suppliers and subcontractors for MEP materials and systems. Analyze market trends, pricing, and availability to optimize purchasing decisions.

Vendor Management

Prequalify, evaluate, and maintain a strong supplier database. Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Build long-term relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality and service.

Technical & Commercial Coordination

Review MEP drawings, BOQs, and specifications to determine material requirements. Coordinate with engineering, project management, and site teams to ensure technical compliance. Prepare and issue RFQs, compare quotations, and conduct technical-commercial evaluations.

Contract & Documentation Control

Prepare purchase orders, agreements, and procurement reports. Ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and regulatory standards. Track procurement activities and maintain accurate documentation.

Cost & Risk Management

Monitor procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities. Mitigate risks related to supply chain delays, quality issues, or price fluctuations. Resolve disputes or delivery issues with suppliers.

Logistics & Delivery Coordination

Follow up on material production, shipping, and delivery schedules. Coordinate with warehouse and site teams to ensure proper storage and handling. Ensure materials arrive on time to avoid project delays.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of MEP systems, materials, and equipment. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong analytical and commercial acumen. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. Effective communication and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field. 5-10 years of experience in MEP procurement within construction or contracting. Familiarity with international standards and regional procurement practices. Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
