Procurement Manager

Summary:
We are seeking a strategic Procurement Manager, preferably an Arabic speaker with an engineering background, to lead our procurement function for fitout projects. The role is critical in securing high-quality materials, equipment, and subcontractor services at optimal costs, ensuring timely availability to meet project schedules without compromise on quality.
Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies for fitout categories (joinery, MEP materials, architectural finishes, FF&E, etc.). Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and subcontractors locally and internationally.
• Tender & Bid Management: Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and tenders. Conduct detailed technical and commercial bid evaluations, negotiations, and recommend awarding to best-value suppliers.
• Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, ethical relationships with key suppliers. Manage vendor performance, contracts, and develop a sustainable supplier base.
• Cost Negotiation & Savings: Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic negotiations, value engineering, and market analysis without sacrificing quality or delivery timelines.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to understand project requirements, develop procurement schedules, and ensure materials are delivered JIT (Just-in-Time) to site.
• Contract Administration: Prepare, review, and administer purchase orders and subcontract agreements. Manage variations, claims, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Logistics & Customs Coordination: Oversee the logistics of material shipments, including customs clearance (for import) and inland transportation, ensuring hassle-free delivery.
• Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of market trends, material price fluctuations, and new products in the fitout industry.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial) or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of UAE experience specifically in the role of Procurement Manager, preferably within the construction or fitout industry.
• Skills:
• Preferred: Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic (for supplier negotiation and authority liaison).
• Strong technical understanding of fitout materials, specifications, and construction sequences.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Solid knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, and UAE import regulations.
