JOB OVERVIEW:
Managing the procurement processes for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within construction projects. Your role ensures that all MEP materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with project specifications and timelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement procurement strategies for MEP materials and services that align with project requirements.
Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) for MEP materials, equipment, and subcontract services.
Review technical submittals, supplier quotations, and compliance with MEP specifications and authority regulations.
Supplier Management & Negotiation
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality procurement.
Establish and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and warranties to optimize costs and maintain quality standards.
Project Coordination & Documentation
Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to understand project specifications and timelines, ensuring alignment in procurement activities.
Maintain accurate procurement records, tracking order status and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
Coordinate with MEP, technical, and planning teams to align procurement with construction schedules.
Market Research & Compliance
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new products that can benefit the projects.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Manage vendor relationships and resolve issues regarding delivery, quality, or service performance as needed
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
8 years proven experience as a Procurement Engineer, preferably within the MEP sector of the construction industry.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of procurement processes and market dynamics related to MEP materials and services.
Soft Skills:
Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build fruitful relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Language:
English and Arabic Required
