- The Procurement Engineer is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services required by the organization. This role includes developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement to meet the organization's operational needs.
*Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives and ensure a cost-effective supply chain.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and service standards are met.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure best value and minimize risk.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with inventory and logistics teams to ensure adequate supply quantities without overstocking.
- Ensuring that procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Managing and directing procurement team members; assigning tasks and reviewing performance to achieve continuous improvement.
- Preparing reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and cost analysis for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CIPSl, CPSM, or CPM are a plus.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in procurement, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Coupa.
