Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Procurement Engineer to support our rapidly growing projects in Doha, Qatar.

The Procurement Engineer supports in the day to day procuring and expediting of material and is responsible for the planning and executing of procurement activities to meet project requirements with regards to cost and schedule. Monitors and Reviews overall department workload in relation to specific projects and makesappropriate assignments Review and monitor issuance of Request for Quotation to the pre qualified vendors for thebidding of various materials and equipment requirements of the projects Review Negotiation Plan as basis of negotiation for shortlisted vendors and assist withnegotiations as required Review and as applicable approve Commercial Bid Evaluation, Award Recommendation and Purchase Order including all necessary and applicable contract documents Coordinate with projects and concerned parties with regard to status of delivery ofequipment and materials Monitor expediting of vendor with particular reference to document deliverables Review accuracy of procurement status report and ensure follow up with specific projects Liaises with Project Managers to address specific project issues Analysis and negotiation of claims Maintain claims register Expedite Engineering and Document Control to ensure all vendor prints are returned withinthe time period stipulated within the purchase order Expedite vendors and QC department for submittals of AFI's and IRN's for all equipment andmaterials Attend KOM's or hold telephone KOM's with vendors to establish a good working relationshipexplaining the criticality of vendor prints submissions, Monthly Progress Status Reports and the impact of equipment/material delivery delays on Company's overall operations

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive and will demonstrate broad experience in Oil & GasBrownfield and Greenfield facilities Middle East experience on similar projects would be an advantage Demonstrate experience in past project involvement in small to medium size projects withpurchase order commitment in excess of $500K Able to exercise good judgement in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information andadhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyses alternatives, and develops viablerecommendations Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks to perform job functionsin an orderly, efficient manner Demonstrate a clear understands of Bank Guarantee's / Performance Bond Demonstrate examples of types of vendor prints and their importance to procurement Understand the market price of a commodity, whether suppliers' price quotes are reasonableand standard delivery time of the material / equipment Understand technical evaluations and prepare commercial evaluations accordingly Capable of analysing and commenting about a detailed project schedule and a MaterialDelivery Status Report Demonstrate a clear understanding of materials logistics, INCOTERMS, essential shippingdocuments, and customs clearance procedures Experience of vendor expediting, including typical expediting problems and solutions, andexpediting techniques Company Overview
