A Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring materials, equipment, and services necessary for projects. They ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with company standards and project requirements. The role involves supplier negotiations, contract management, and collaboration with internal teams to optimize procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing:
Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.
Develop sourcing strategies to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and new materials.
Vendor Management & Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
Maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure supply chain stability.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery time, and cost.
Cost Optimization & Budgeting:
Analyze procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare cost estimations and procurement plans for projects.
Ensure procurement activities align with budget constraints.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data.
Prepare procurement reports and documentation for audits and reviews.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
Work closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to understand requirements.
Improve procurement processes through automation, digital tools, and best practices.
Resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays or supply chain disruptions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
Experience: 4-7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of engineering materials, technical specifications, and sourcing methods.
Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
