Job Description

A Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for projects while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. The role involves close coordination with engineering, operations, suppliers, and project management teams to support smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical capability. Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), review supplier quotations, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations. Negotiate prices, terms, and contract conditions to achieve the best value for the company. Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure specification compliance and support in resolving technical issues with suppliers. Create and maintain purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation. Track and monitor delivery schedules, follow up with suppliers, and ensure on-time material delivery. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Evaluate supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delays, or non-compliance. Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to overall procurement strategy improvement. Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies, project requirements, and industry standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within construction, MEP, manufacturing, or engineering sectors. Strong knowledge of technical specifications, materials, and equipment. Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor-management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
