We are seeking a motivated

Procurement Engineer

with proven experience in the

contracting or construction industry

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for ongoing projects. You will work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing, while maintaining quality and compliance with specifications. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle procurement of construction materials, consumables, equipment, and subcontracted services in accordance with project specifications and deadlines. Prepare and issue RFQs, collect and evaluate supplier quotations, and prepare bid comparison sheets. Negotiate with vendors for best prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions. Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams to ensure timely delivery of materials. Identify and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors based on project needs and company standards. Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Monitor vendor performance and delivery schedules to avoid project delays. Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies, project requirements, and contractual obligations. Assist in resolving material or service discrepancies with suppliers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). 2-5 years of procurement experience in the

contracting/construction industry

. Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and vendor landscape. Good knowledge of procurement procedures and basic contractual terms. Proficient in MS Office and ERP/procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.). Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
