to manage the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and procurement of materials, equipment, and services for our construction and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all procured items meet the required technical specifications, are delivered on time, and are cost-effective while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project specifications, BOQs, and drawings to identify procurement needs.
Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations) and analyze vendor proposals.
Evaluate technical and commercial offers in coordination with engineering and project teams.
Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up on timely deliveries.
Develop and maintain an approved vendor database and assess vendor performance regularly.
Coordinate with site and warehouse teams to ensure materials delivered meet project timelines and specifications.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement requirements.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and transactions.
Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and ethical standards.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements.
Assist in resolving supplier quality or delivery issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred).
3-5 years of proven experience in a procurement role within the construction or engineering industry.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiations.
Familiar with local and international market suppliers, especially in construction materials and MEP items.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret technical specifications and BOQs.
Proficient in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Attributes:
Membership in a professional procurement or engineering body (e.g., CIPS, PMI, or equivalent).
Knowledge of local UAE/ GCC procurement regulations and import/export procedures.
Strong ethical standards and attention to detail.
