The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procure to Pay is accountable for the leadership and effective operation of the Procure to Pay team. Overseeing the Accounts Payable function from hiring staff and managing performance including, \xe2\x80\xa2 Motivating staff and making reward decisions \xe2\x80\xa2 Key decision maker of the Accounts Payable function \xe2\x80\xa2 Setting departmental objectives \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepares the Accounts Payable team budget as part of the annual budget cycle and performs \xe2\x80\xa2 Ongoing reviews of the adherence to the budget providing explanations for variances \xe2\x80\xa2 Routine activities such as the review and approval for disbursements including processing payroll \xe2\x80\xa2 Managing the maintenance of the GL \xe2\x80\x93 AP accounts ensuring accuracy and timeliness of recordings. \xe2\x80\xa2 Manages the month end close of financial records (e.g. posting of month-end journals) \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitors adherence of the Accounts Payable function to company policy and procedures \xe2\x80\xa2 Embedding and maintaining a strong control environment across the Accounts Payable team \xe2\x80\xa2 Building and maintaining external relationships with clients and suppliers \xe2\x80\xa2 Reviewing Accounts Payable related MI for board reporting \xe2\x80\xa2 Acts as the business contact for all external Accounts Payable related queries required for statutory \xe2\x80\xa2 Reporting purposes and as the contact for the business to provide accounting assistance to project teams \xe2\x80\xa2 As required to meet the needs of the business \xe2\x80\xa2 Liaises with the external auditor for all Accounts Payable related queries Functional Competencies \xe2\x80\xa2 Financial Accounting \xe2\x80\xa2 Analytical thinking \xe2\x80\xa2 Problem Solving \xe2\x80\xa2 Influence & impact \xe2\x80\xa2 End to End process standardisation, optimisation and automation \xe2\x80\xa2 Integrity and business continuity

Requirements
  • Experience in working as a people manager of a Finance Shared Services team \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in working across multiple global entities and time zones \xe2\x80\xa2 Significant experience in Accounts Payables management \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledgeable in Finance Shared Services best practices and governance procedures \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in setting up a new shared services centre (desirable) Required Flexibility Mon- Fri work week Work timings- 11.00am to 8.00pm Travel to Africa and other countries
