Scope:
The process safety engineer\'s main function is to conduct risks assessment during projects execeution and also for process operating plants, using validated software modelling the consequences of various hazards scenarios & evaluate the associated risks and provide risk mitigation measures to reduce to ALARP. Additionally, act as a resource for engineering staff in the application of the company\xe2\x80\x99s Loss Prevention Standards, Process safety standards/codes procedures . Moreover, ensuring that safety in design is implemented and that process safety engineering standards and procedures are met during the development, design, and construction and operational phases of a project.

Duties and responsabilities:
Manage and conduct the HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, PHSER, QRA and other safety studies/reviews, as well as track and assist with any resulting recommendations
Prepare HSE design philosophies, review F&G mapping suties, fire risk analysis and Safety Critical Elements, prepare/review Hazardous Area Classification reports.
Design of fire protection systems, prepare and review Fire protection P&ID\'s and review of fire water demand calculations.
Attend 3D Models to ensure Safety requirements in terms of safety spacing/lay out and access/emergency evacuations are implemented.
Log Safety lessons learnt throughout the life cycle of project execution.
Ensure that all safety studies/workshops close out documents actions are completed on schedule
Design and sizing of water spray, fire water hydrants, sprinkler and foam systems.
Prepare safety inputs for the preparation of Plot plans . Prepare lay outs of fire and safety equipment and escape route lay out
Supervise the application of Process Safety elements as per project development stages
Perform risk analysis and coach others on the use of risk analysis techniques
Provide project support, including support for process engineering to the full development of process packages, application of modeling software, and design of relief devices
Implement Process Hazard Analysis studies findings and Safety in design throughout the different phases of the project execution and Operation
Prepare fire protection and safety equipment datasheets, specifications and RFQ\'s.
Perform audit of process safety management systems and execute risk mitigation corrective actions
Defining the Passive Fire protection philosophy and the vfire proofing requirements for equipment supports/structures and key instument equipment.
Ensuring that HSE requirements are implemented during MOC\'s preparation.
Review process safety documents to ensure quality and technical compliance to project specifications.
Assist Incident Investigation teams in investigating and classifying process safety incidents, as well as provide support in the development of process tools and action plans to close identified Process Safety gaps
Implement Active and Passive fire protection requirements into projects, and prepare Fire water P&ID\'s
Conduct flare radiation/Dispersion analysis using latest internationally recognized packages
Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

Job Specifications:
Minimum a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 8 years of engineering experience supporting Projects and/or Operations, such as plant or process engineering, project design, execution, engineering and/or technical service roles
Solid understanding of process safety elements, practical knowledge leading hazard assessments and exposure to industry Codes and Standards (such as and not limited to NFPA, API, IEC, DNV)
