JOB DESCRIPTION:
Privacy Investigations and Intelligence Senior Specialist is urgently required for a leading IT Vendor based in Doha, Qatar, for a long-term assignment up to 3 years with a government entity. The competent department of Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (PDDPL) was set up in 2018, with the mandate to supervise, regulate and develop the sector of Information and Communications Technology in the State of Qatar. A key function of the competent department is its regulation over the processing of personal data under the Qatari Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (PDPPL), which requires organisations in Qatar to ensure the protection of personal data and privacy of individuals. The competent department is the regulator empowered to enforce and supervise implementation of the PDPPL across Qatar. This role is a key component of the competent department workforce as it is implemented and starts executing its responsibilities as a regulator, while also taking a consultative approach towards organisations who seek more guidance in PDPPL implementation. You will develop and execute technical strategies and plans to support the investigation of privacy incidents at regulated entities operating in Qatar based. You will ensure that all investigations are conducted effectively in a manner that enforces compliance with the PDPPL. You will also conduct general and themed intelligence gathering and analysis, to build intelligence pictures and identify new and emerging threats and trends to facilitate a risk-based approach to enforcement and audit QUALIFICATION:
  • University degree or higher education certificate in information technology, technology law, risk and compliance or other relevant degrees or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to use data analytics tools to analyse and report on patterns and trends.
  • Ability to analyse data to draw meaningful conclusions that assists management decision making.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and political, social and legal as well as technological developments, that impact on information rights.
  • Fluency in audit or investigation methodology to be able to conduct investigations effectively, preferably in a manner that is reflective of IIA Standards.
  • Technical writing ability to write investigation reports in both English and Arabic for any reasonable person to understand. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent certification.
  • [Preferable]Data Protection certifications preferred, such as Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and/or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
  • 10 - 12 years in an enforcement, investigation or internal audit function of a large organisation, preferably a regulator or Government agency.
