Job summary

MISSION:
  • Managing multiple projects and ensuring design deliverables are delivered per approved budget/ schedule;
  • Demonstrating an overriding commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibility;
  • Ensuring adherence to Quality Systems Procedure;
  • Ensuring the deliverables meet the contractual requirements;
  • Guiding and leading the team in the preparation of various engineering deliverables;
  • Reviewing and approving the engineering deliverables prepared by the team;
  • Coordination with other discipline and departments;
  • Coordination with Client, Class and Vendors;
  • Acting as Lead Engineer for some projects as required;
  • Assisting team members in providing technical guidance.
TASKS:
  • Ensuring client technical engineering requirements are identified and understood and ensuring that the discipline meets its contractual obligations from an engineering perspective in all instances;
  • Reviewing basic designs provided by third parties for Engineering, Procurement, Construction projects to ensure the designs meet the customer\'s performance criteria;
  • Supporting Projects and Production departments by ensuring that engineering deliverables are provided in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring that discipline engineering considers construction methods and efficiency;
  • Managing the subcontractors when engineering activities are outsourced or subcontracted;
  • Establishing and ensuring the use of standard engineering details across the Group for the discipline;
  • Contributing to the professional development of employees with by providing training and mentoring;
  • Supporting the commercial team and providing technical assistance when required for Bids and Proposals;
  • Ensuring quality and accuracy of the engineering deliverables for the discipline;
  • Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) responsibilities;
  • Maintaining relationship with Discipline Managers, Director (Engineering), Project Control Manager and Project Engineering Mangers, Projects / Production / Proposals / Quality / Operations / Procurement Department Managers;
  • Maintaining relationship with Customers;
  • Reviewing and approving of various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as P&ID\'s, Architecture, Schematic, Block Diagrams, Sizing calculations, Datasheets, Equipment & System Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams, hook up diagrams, schedules and lists, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, layouts and other documents;
  • Reviewing and approving of Material engineering deliverables which includes preparation of Purchase specifications, Purchase requisitions (as required), Technical bid Evaluation and Vendor document review;
  • Attending project and engineering review meetings, process and safety workshops, site surveys, FAT and inspections, as required;
  • Providing necessary input and support to Operations, Commissioning & Completions teams;
  • Responsible for change management & risk identification;
  • Authorized to sign on the review column of drawings and documents.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum Education BSc/BTech Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; MSc/MTech Degree is an advantage;
  • Minimum Experience 20 years in the industry in Offshore / Onshore Oil and Gas facilities with major EPC contractor and/or Consultant;
  • Knowledge of softwares such as PHAST / SAFETI / FLARESIM;
  • Conversant with Class rules like ABS, DNV and GL;
  • Conversant with the International Engineering Codes and Standards such as API, BS, EN, IEC, IEEE, ISA, NACE, NFPA and Client Standards such as ADNOC, ARAMCO, BP, SHELL;
  • Experience in various Loss prevention Engineering calculations / studies and equipment selection;
  • Design experience in offshore and onshore fields;
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal);
