Job Description

The Principal Planner will be responsible for preparing and maintaining Level 3 and Level 4 detailed Fabrication/Construction activity schedules, with the purpose of providing the Project Management Team with accurate progress, performance and schedule data to manage the project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, maintain and analyze schedules in Primavera P6 software and prepare periodic progress and status reports.
  • Maintain and review sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other operations for control of critical path and overall project durations.
  • Expedite operations that are delaying the schedule and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Able to produce workforce histograms and progress and quantity curves in connection with the schedules.

  • May need to prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment for input into Work Packages.
  • Responsible for the quality of the detailed project offshore schedules. Work closely with operations scheduling group to provide feedback to any changes to project schedules (e.g. changed scope of work, changed execution plan) for inclusion into the overall vessel schedule.
  • Review technical and commercial qualifications, ensuring all assumptions/qualifications related to the schedule/execution plan are included.
  • Participates in Decision-making within Project teams and Operations Department
  • Mentor and assist junior planners.

Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Minimum 10 years of Planning/Scheduling experience. Preferable for LNG projects.
  • Must have experience working for an EPC or Operator.
  • Proficient with Project Management concepts such as the EV (Earned Value), Productivity, etc.
  • Must be able to produce, maintain and analyze progress S curves for progress and quantities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
