What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

• Take ownership, as a professional engineer, for the development of new and existing products, site fuel infrastructure and systems to improve their performance, operating efficiency, ease of manufacture and total cost of ownership.
• Using structural analysis software (Preferably STAAD PRO) and hand calculations produce detailed design calculations for relevant site structures such as engine sheds, exhaust stacks, portal framed buildings, supports, skids and frames, electrical substation structures etc.
• Be proficient with general FEA software using linear elastic models to produce safe mechanical and structural designs using beam, shell/plate, and 3D elements to suitable design codes.
• Preferred experience with CFD codes such as ANSYS Fluent or Open FOAM for external flow analysis and simulation of heat transfer around generation sets.
• Produce designs for containerized or skidded packaged equipment to support the power generation sites.
• Utilizing 3D CAD produce detailed models, GA, and fabrication drawings for the designs.
• The design of sound attenuation systems (Noise barriers, attenuators etc) and emission control systems (exhaust stacks, SCR etc). Simulation of sound maps using Sound PLAN and ambient air emission limits using AERMOD.
• Producing designs to international structural design codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, Eurocodes)
• Examine new products in the market to potentially improve maintainability, reliability, control, packaging, or environmental qualities, or to extend the product range.
• Produce pipe stress analysis reports using industry software such as Auto PIPE.
• Design new site fuel infrastructure systems using established engineering solutions and a knowledge of fundamental engineering principles.
• Work with key suppliers to ensure that the best use is made of available technologies and components. Select components, considering their technical specification and the cost of ownership over the full product lifecycle.
• Using relevant design codes produce detailed designs for mat, strip and isolated footings as required for the support of structures and skids on Aggreko sites.
• Produce detailed calculations for the design of footings along with drawings and rebar schedules.
• Work with contractors to produce detailed specifications for geotechnical site surveys, to understand soil parameters for footing design and site preparation.
• Develop specific Company engineering standards for new and existing products as required
• Conduct, as required, root cause analysis of selected equipment and projects.
• Producing operation and repair manuals for in house products
• Quality control of drawings and product data
• Assist in the specification of specialist mechanical equipment.

We\xe2\x80\x99re experts, which means you\xe2\x80\x99ll have the following skills and experience:

• Minimum degree or equivalent qualification or experience in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience in a power generation environment with exposure to both gas and liquid fuelled installations
• Software Experience

• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD systems)
• STAAD PRO, STAAD Foundation Advanced
• FEA (ANSYS, etc)
• Auto PIPE, CAESER (Preferred)
• Mathcad
• Sound PLAN and AERMOD (preferred)
• Experience in Python Programming preferred.
• Understanding of Engineering processes and appreciation of the commercial constraints.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure. Driven for results and sufficiently organized to be involved in several projects producing good quality work on time and within cost budget.
• Breadth of vision to balance the needs of reliability, maintainability, and efficient performance within the commercial and packaging constraints. Ability to understand the needs of the end user.
• Thorough attention to detail and high technical integrity.
• Ability to quickly identify critical issues in a project. Ability to think ahead and to act on opportunities or problems.
