AECOM Middle East is seeking an accomplished Principal Highway Engineer to join its Transportation business in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead the planning, design, and delivery of major road and highway infrastructure projects across the UAE and wider GCC. Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams in the design and delivery of major expressways, urban roads, interchanges, and active mobility projects.
• Oversee geometric design, alignments, and highway layout using regional and international standards (RTA, AASHTO, DM, DMRB).
• Coordinate closely with structural, drainage, traffic, and environmental engineering teams.
• Provide expert technical input on complex design challenges, ensuring safety, sustainability, and constructability compliance.
• Prepare, review, and approve feasibility studies, design reports, tender documents, and technical specifications.
• Liaise with clients such as RTA and ADM, attend project meetings, and maintain strong stakeholder communication.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet quality and performance targets.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence and leadership growth within the transportation team.
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, bid presentations, and client relationship building.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in highway design and project management, ideally within UAE or GCC markets.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Strong command of RTA, DM, ADM standards and global design codes (AASHTO, DMRB).
• Proficiency in highway design software such as OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Infraworks, or similar.
• Demonstrated expertise in sustainable road design, road safety, and digital delivery processes.
• Excellent technical writing, coordination, and client management skills.
